Death of a Valentine

Fusing local color, twisted mystery and quirky characters, M.C. Beaton gives us Death of a Valentine, the latest in her beloved Hamish Macbeth series!

Amazing news is racing across the Scottish Highlands: famous bachelor Police Sergeant Hamish Macbeth is to be married at last! Everyone in Lochdubh adores Josie McSween, his new constable and bride-to-be.

But Hamish is miserable. If it weren't for the recent murder of a beautiful woman in a neighboring village, there wouldn't be a wedding. It started when a mysterious Valentine's Day card blew up in the victim’s face. Working together, Hamish and Josie discovered that the woman's list of admirers was endless…confirming Hamish's suspicion that love can be blind—and deadly!

Another great Hamish book

Poor Hamish, will he ever find true love? Not yet it seems. Thoroughly enjoyed "Death of a Valentine" as I have the others in the series. And as with the others, I love the local color of the Highlands. Almost makes me want to move there and find my own Hamish.

Exciting and romantic, Hamish is an old friend who always needs some luck. Read the book overnight, just so concerned about his mishaps, as usual worked out OK.
