Kisser

No one can beat Stuart Woods at crafting fast-paced thrillers with a high gloss of humor, sex and glamour. In Kisser, he lays it on in style as attorney Stone Barrington hops between beds—and New York’s art and theatre worlds—to nab a couple of bad guys.

Within minutes of meeting Carrie Cox, a stunning—and stunningly rich—actress from Georgia, Stone is hired as her attorney and is soon caught in the whirlwind as the ambitious actress storms Manhattan. It’s like something out of a fairy tale…until Carrie’s ex-husband tries to kill her.

Protecting his client and getting the murderous ex safely behind bars is one thing. Then he’s called to save a trust fund baby from her artist boyfriend, Derek Sharpe, who's out to steal her money. But Sharpe has another gig: selling narcotics to his wealthy clientele. Shanghaied back to police work by Lt. Brian Doyle, Stone is teamed with undercover cop Mitzi Reynolds to bring Sharpe down.

Between these cases, two demanding women and the alarming reappearance of his beautiful but psychotic ex-wife, Dolce, Stone is exhausted. When the bullets start to fly, can he stand up to the pressure? Or will the criminals throw him a smack aimed right at the kisser?

Disjointed stories
June 14, 2010

The two mysteries were ok, but lacked connection. There was a lot of gratuitous sex, totally unnecessary to the stories.

Pretty good

I thought it was a pretty good book but all Stone seemed to be doing is getting in bed and having sex. Thought it was a little over the top.

Kisser: Stone Barrington Super Man
April 14, 2010

I'm not sure how old the lead character Stone Barrington is now, but jeez he seems to get a lot of sex out of his cases. Kisser follows what is now a formula for Stone. He meets a beautiful but mysterious damsel in distress who turns out to be her own worst enemy and Stones. He goes to Elaine's restaurant a lot and confers with his Police buddy Dino, who is always there to back him up. I gave it 4 stars because I like reading about Elaine's, I love reading about his home, and I love how he manages to extracate himself from even the most dangerous situations. I'm waiting for the next one.

Same ole, Same ole

Not much content to this one. Same plotline, same sex (different women. Quick read but not very entertaining.
