Where did we come from? Who created us? Why are we here? These are all difficult questions, to be sure, but not for Jon Stewart and the writers of The Daily Show. Deciding enough is enough, they set out to tackle these nagging questions once and for all, so that we’ll all shut up about it. After two weeks of hard work and deliberation, they’ve cooked up The Daily Show with Jon Stewart Presents Earth (The Book), a smart, witty, urbane and utterly irreverent look at the human race in all its dubious glory. Take it from us: This is the absolute and final word on the subject.
What do we look like? Who did our hair? Why did our mothers dress us so funny? Pulling no punches and never balking at the tough questions, this meaty tome wastes no time in untangling our origins, our achievements, our culture, religions, checkered pasts, governments and more. It’s a warts-and-all account of Earth’s biggest foibles and faux pas, complete with loads of color photos, convincing graphs and possibly even a pie chart or two. Earth (The Book) answers life’s most heavy-hitting questions, completely unburdened by objectivity, journalistic integrity or even accuracy.

As a huge "Daily Show" fan, I had to have this book. Typical of the show's humor, it turns its eyes to human civilization and treats it with just the right amount of respect it deserves. (Interpret this as you like!) From the inside cover to the end it is a well-spring of wit and thoughful but tough reflection on humanity and history. Lesson? We really need to take ourselves less seriously.

Love Jon Stewart, watch his show , huge fan of his humor and intellect but this book is huge disappointment - layed out in style of those beautiful DK History books etc and can appreciate the endeavour but ultimately no laugh out loud funny or even a truly witty moment...borrow from the library- or peruse a few moments at bookstore- not a keeper, just mildly amusing

This is one of the funniest books I have ever read....and so spot on about humans and the silly stuff we do now and have done in the past. So glad I got this book! Still laughing..

Stewart's companion to "America" does not suffer from sophomore slump. Virtually every page is crammed with all kinds of interesting stuff, & can put anyone into a good mood even after an election such as the recent one. Anyone who has "America" Must also have this opus.
